In High School, my friend Luca and I decided to build an arcade machine in one of our engineering classes. We used online designs for inspiration but designed our own internals to make it from 2x4's which which although made the machine heavy, was also far cheaper. We then used a hand router and a jig to cut melamine siding to the correct shape, then covered the exposed edges with a plastic sheathing. We made the machine to be 2 player and operate on quarters inserted in the bottom. It was controlled with a Raspberry Pi connected to a computer monitor and ran an already-created arcade program (retropie). This took half a semester to create and is still in my high school.Â
Unfortunately because I made this in High School the images are not great.
