During my time in High School I got involved in the Robotics Club. This is what primarily sparked my love for engineering and working with my hands. All 4 years I helped build a robot to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). Our team, Monarch Robotics #1245 competed in the Denver Regionals Competition in 2017-2019, and were planning on competing in 2020 until it got cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. In 2019 (my last year competing) we did the best our school has ever done, placing 3rd out of 53 teams.
In the Robotics Club I learned many of the fundamentals of engineering. This included design ideation, the engineering design process, prototyping, CAD, manufacturing, and assembly. I am most proud of the long hours I dedicated, and discovering my passion for design and working with my hands.
Below are a few images and videos from our 2020 build season.
